About Us

FallingStar Awards is an awards site, newly resurrected after a four year hiatus, that acknowledge's and praises web published fiction on FictionPress.
We hold scheduled awards throughout the year. Anyone may nominate their favourite stories for recognition.
We're also a review site. A collection of some of the greatest stories on FictionPress.
We felt our old system of reviewing was tired and overly complicated (and perhaps harsher than necessary on the authors) so we have removed a few of our old things such as 5 star rating and voted rating by readers. 

We launched in the September of 2008 as part of a university creative writing assessment. The majority of the groups opted for reviews on published works; our group, under the lead of Andrew, decided to try something different. We set up a review site over at free webs for un-published, or internet published works (namely fictionpress). It was fun, we enjoyed our time dissecting and studying budding author's works.
We continued to post way past the end of the project but eventually called it a day in 2009. You can see our original reviews and stories here.
